Changes to my study programme

Imagen
As I already mentioned in a previous blog, the career I'm studying at this moment, Theory and History of Art, isn't my first career in Universidad de Chile. I study Theatre Design for two years and a half in the Art faculty, Theatre Department, where we had similarities in some subjects with my current carrer, however, the diferences on both of the faculty facilities (Las Encinas vs Theatre Department) are huge. First of all, we have to think about the fact that the theatre department is a patrimonial building, so they can't make any structural changes, so the estructural conditions aren't good for having two careers at the same time, sharing that space. I remember that sometimes we had to fight with the other career for the classrooms, because there weren't many of them; or we had to put the lecterns too close to each other so we can actually draw the model that we had to. We also had ilumination courses, but we only had one spotlight and a very little room to pra...

Time travel to the past

Imagen
When I was thinking about time travel to write this blog, the first thing that came to my mind was, of course, the movie "Back to the future"; I think is the best movie of all times haha. But since it is a popular movie on the other blogs, I started to think about what other movie that talks about time travel I had watch. Suddenly, I remember that my favourite movie saga also shows that topic. On Harry Potter and the prisoner of Azkaban, Hermione uses a device that Dumbuldure gave to her so that she could attend all classes at the same time; this was possible because the device allowed her to travel through time at her will. Such an amazing device! Although I would have used it for other things. Regarding my idea of time travel, I think I would like to travel to the past if I could. I have always felt that perhaps I would been happier in another time, maybe because I didn't feel that I fit in with this time, and in a way I still feel it. I don't really know to what ...

My dream job

Imagen
If I remember well, I didn't have any especific dream job as a child, because I change it every year. But some of the jobs I mention as a child were: massage therapyst, because I liked to give my mom massages; a painter (I love paint and make things with my hands since I was little) and a medical examiner. When I was younger, I used to watch a lot of crime series, like Criminal Minds or CSI, and that's why I wanted to be a medical examiner like the ones who appear there. I am studying Theory and History of art at this moment, but it wasn't my first choice when I wanted to enter at the university. When I was applying to the Universidad de Chile I had only one option, which was Theatrical Design. I decided to study that major at first because I always love the theatre and arts in general. Finally I enter and study that career for two years and a half and I like it very much, until the pandemia comes and we had to stay in cuarentine with online classes. The first year was s...

My best holiday ever

Imagen
In the last blog I talked very shortly about the time when I visit Rapa Nui and why I fell in love with the place. Now I can try to complete the story. I went to Rapa Nui five years ago in the summer of 2018, it was my last year of school and all my classmates were going to Brazil for the typical school tour of the last years of school. I did not wanted to go there and also I did not had the enough money for that trip, so I dicided that I was not going. Know I understand that I did not wanted to go for more important reasons that the ones that I just said, the reality was that I did not like to much the classmates that I had on those days. Finally I had a conversation with my mum and the both of us decided that instead of going to a school tour, we could go to a family tour to the place that we were planning to go for the last couple of years, Rapa Nui. So we bought the plane tickets and made the hotel reservation. The fun fact was that in the last minute my boyfriend (that was also ...

A place I would love to visit

Imagen
To be honest, I would like to travel to many parts of the world, to see and perhaps live there. But if I had to choose a place to visit outside of Chile (I have never left the country), I think that the first would be Italy. This country has always caught my attention for its cultural richness and more now that I am studying a career related to art, heritage and the importance of knowing the history of every place to understand how it becomes what it is know.  I would like to visit the ruins from Rome, the arquitecture in Florence and go to all the popular places where I can found the museums and see the paintings that for now I can only see through a proyector in class. I have a plan in a medium-term of time that is live in a "country side" of Italy for a period of five to ten years and know all the places around, starting from the Popular or "tourist" sites and from there start to absorb the history and art of the old continent.   Although, I would like to mentio...
